Conrad Dramsch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Möller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 42 minutes, Florin Peschke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galatasaray SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florin Peschke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Lars Möller's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Conrad Dramsch was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The referee ignored FC Wacker München's protests and gave Harald Plum a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 played minutes FC Wacker München got a freekick which was hit by Harald Plum. Dennis Bopp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sievert Möhn in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, one of Galatasaray SK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Galatasaray SK. In the 67th minute there was a penalty for FC Wacker München. Heribert Baader stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dennis Bopp. 1-1. With a little luck, FC Wacker München's Conrad Dramsch got control of the ball when Florin Peschke tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 71 played minutes FC Wacker München got a freekick which was hit by Harald Plum. Albrecht Czylwick's late challenge caught a FC Wacker München's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Galatasaray SK:s Dennis Bopp showed great skill when he stopped Heribert Baader:s penalty. FC Wacker München's Conrad Dramsch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Wacker München from getting a goal against them. If Florin Peschke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Florin Peschke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 93 minutes into the match, FC Wacker München's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Galeazzi came free, but Conrad Dramsch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florin Peschke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conrad Dramsch having to interfere. In the 96th match minute, FC Wacker München was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oskar Paulus to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute, Albrecht Czylwick sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Wacker München's Conrad Dramsch didn't even have to move. Galatasaray SK were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
