The audience thought a goal was coming when Oliver Rohde got free with Christopher Hoppenstedt in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Wilhelm Hoffmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Kalb was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Christopher Hoppenstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olaf Humbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gernot Aydin fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gel Hele's protests and gave Gernot Aydin a yellow card for diving instead. Christopher Hoppenstedt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olaf Humbert's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Christopher Hoppenstedt made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Olaf Humbert sent off a good shot on target. Jörn Blassel's late challenge caught a Gel Hele's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jörn Blassel helped the player get up and apologised. Jörn Blassel hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Moselkern! The referee gave Gel Hele a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Artur Kneuer, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Moselkern's Daniel Kalb. 0-1. In the 22nd minute, Gernot Aydin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaap Geenen in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Christopher Hoppenstedt, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Moselkern's Jörn Blassel got a free kick in the 34th minute. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Jaap Geenen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jaap Geenen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Christopher Hoppenstedt made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olaf Humbert in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christopher Hoppenstedt saved Gel Hele from getting behind. Olaf Humbert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christopher Hoppenstedt having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olaf Humbert was the one to do the kick off. If Olaf Humbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Moselkern getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Owen Aubert hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olaf Humbert in the 63rd minute of play forced Gel Hele's goalkeeper Christopher Hoppenstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jindrich Hotze fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gel Hele's protests and gave Jindrich Hotze a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Olaf Humbert put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Christopher Hoppenstedt. Christopher Hoppenstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaap Geenen in the 76th minute of play. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Moselkern's goalkeeper Daniel Kalb, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olaf Humbert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christopher Hoppenstedt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Olaf Humbert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christopher Hoppenstedt was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Moselkern's Hippo Winterhalter got a free kick in the 90th minute. Jaap Geenen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christopher Hoppenstedt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Moselkern were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
