Jörn Blassel ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Moselkern's zone, Rafael Baumeister stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Kalb came out of the goal and Rafael Baumeister tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaap Geenen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ferdinand Au tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olaf Humbert in the 17th minute of play forced Ballspiel-Verein Preußen's goalkeeper Ferdinand Au to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaap Geenen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ballspiel-Verein Preußen's Ferdinand Au proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Ballspiel-Verein Preußen from getting a goal against them. If Olaf Humbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 27 minutes, Rafael Baumeister managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballspiel-Verein Preußen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Baumeister was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Kalb didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballspiel-Verein Preußen. In the 45th minute Markus Fritzen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Kalb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Markus Fritzen to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Jörn Blassel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the game, Moselkern's Jaap Geenen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ferdinand Au made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After having played for 63 minutes, Hippo Winterhalter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moselkern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hippo Winterhalter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferdinand Au stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olaf Humbert's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Jaap Geenen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ferdinand Au having to make a save. After 69 minutes of play, Moselkern's Olaf Humbert made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ferdinand Au was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 80 minutes, Jaap Geenen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moselkern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaap Geenen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Olaf Humbert came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Moselkern fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olaf Humbert couldn't finish the play. Jaap Geenen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olaf Humbert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferdinand Au read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Ferdinand Au stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olaf Humbert's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute Olaf Humbert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinand Au saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moselkern walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
