The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Olaf Humbert dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of David Lechner, 1-0. In the 14th minute, Moselkern's Olaf Humbert dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Daniel Kalb didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edo Meling went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Olaf Humbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Lechner having to interfere. Jaap Geenen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Lechner having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Sylbach's goalkeeper David Lechner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaap Geenen. In the 34th minute Franz Haug shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Kalb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Marc Zuse notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Moselkern's Daniel Kalb. Daniel Kalb was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edo Meling made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olaf Humbert in the 53rd minute of play forced Sylbach's goalkeeper David Lechner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute Edo Meling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Kalb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaap Geenen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Edo Meling fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olaf Humbert in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Lechner saved Sylbach from getting behind. In the 76th minute, Bernhard Bollerey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sylbach's goalkeeper David Lechner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Olaf Humbert made a precise shot to the right of David Lechner. Sylbach's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. Olaf Humbert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Lechner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Moselkern's goalkeeper Daniel Kalb had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marc Zuse. Daniel Kalb showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edo Meling in the 90th minute of the match. Sylbach's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
