Holsener SV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BSC Young Boys the free kick. Ture Seligmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BSC Young Boys. Meik Zahn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ture Seligmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. BSC Young Boys's Linus Böwering got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, BSC Young Boys's Alois Wirtz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ture Seligmann narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Holsener SV's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gerrit Böhm was slow to take the kick. During this time BSC Young Boys's players had a chance to rest. Meik Zahn's late challenge caught a Holsener SV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Meik Zahn helped the player get up and apologised. Meik Zahn kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Ture Seligmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Linus Böwering in the 61st minute. If Etienne Behnisch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benedikt Lötzer hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Ture Seligmann made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Linus Böwering sent off a good shot on target. Alois Wirtz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Holsener SV's Ture Seligmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Holsener SV from getting a goal against them. Holsener SV's Ronnie Bensch got his second yellow card of the match in the 69th minute. The referee ordered Ronnie Bensch off the ground. Ronnie Bensch hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the match, BSC Young Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Bernd Winzen came free, but Eberhard Fritzenwanker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alois Wirtz in the 79th minute of play forced Holsener SV's goalkeeper Ture Seligmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. BSC Young Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Linus Böwering was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Spieß during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes BSC Young Boys got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Spieß. In the 97th minute, Linus Böwering ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ture Seligmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The Holsener SV fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. BSC Young Boys were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
