Spectators: 7507 (Terracing: 5631, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Durs Grupe started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Neulend booed when Harvard University was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erdal Erdogan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Durs Grupe scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Obbo Brandau, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gunther Kreis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julien Mulder went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Achim Hens hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Harvard University's Hilbert Raubach got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute Julien Mulder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunther Kreis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Obbo Brandau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durs Grupe in the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 29 minutes, Jerome Storm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Neulend's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerome Storm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Durs Grupe fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Neulend's protests and gave Durs Grupe a yellow card for diving instead. Durs Grupe hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Yves Waldner kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Jerome Storm's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Obbo Brandau read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Lukas Knorr cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Gunther Kreis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Neulend's goalkeeper Gunther Kreis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julien Mulder. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julien Mulder got free with Gunther Kreis in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 63 played minutes Harvard University got a freekick which was hit by Achim Hens. When Neulend's Durs Grupe in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Harvard University's goalie prevented a goal. 69 minutes into the match, Neulend's goalkeeper Gunther Kreis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hilbert Raubach. After 71 played minutes, Neulend's Patrick Oliver Gallasch shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Obbo Brandau came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Neulend reached it. In the 73rd minute, Heinz Schmieta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the game, Nat Kissling was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neulend's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Harvard University the free kick. After a rather tough play, Neulend's Nat Kissling got a free kick in the 77th minute. Gunther Kreis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Achim Hens in the 78th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Neulend was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nat Kissling to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute Achim Hens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunther Kreis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gunther Kreis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Achim Hens in the 88th minute of play. Gunther Kreis made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Hilbert Raubach sent off a good shot on target. If Durs Grupe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julien Mulder got free with Gunther Kreis in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle went the supporters of Harvard University were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Neulend side.
