Spectators: 5100 (Terracing: 4100, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Beienrode's Roman Kuch started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Radim Keuken came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Beienrode fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radim Keuken couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the game, Roman Kuch lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Gunther Kreis. Gunther Kreis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Kuch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Durs Grupe might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Friedemann Nittel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roman Kuch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gunther Kreis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Beienrode's zone, Durs Grupe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Friedemann Nittel came out of the goal and Durs Grupe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
