In the 9thth minute of the game Gunther Strobel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bodajk FC's Etienne Funkel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gunther Strobel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Etienne Funkel having to make a save. 16 minutes into the match, St.Pauli's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick-Marc Kalb came free, but Knud Ockmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, St.Pauli's Ben Grabert got a free kick in the 17th minute. Gunther Strobel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Etienne Funkel having to interfere. Gunther Strobel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Etienne Funkel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Gunther Strobel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Etienne Funkel. That made the score 1-0 in the 41 minute of play. Gunther Strobel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Etienne Funkel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrick-Marc Kalb was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute, Henk Zischer fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of Etienne Funkel. Etienne Funkel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunther Strobel in the 62nd minute of play. Etienne Funkel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunther Strobel, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Henk Zischer managed to get in a good position for a shot. St.Pauli's supporters rose to their feet, but Henk Zischer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Etienne Funkel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kornelius Klee took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Knud Ockmann. St.Pauli's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Etienne Funkel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk Zischer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Bodajk FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. André Schindler hit a great ball. When St.Pauli's Gunther Strobel in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to St.Pauli getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Thilo Lintner hit a great ball. In the 96th match minute, Bodajk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Zirotzki to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute of the match Ben Vogt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Etienne Funkel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. There was no doubt that St.Pauli were the better team. St.Pauli's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
