Sundhof's Bertram Hagen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franz Borgers in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franz Borgers in the 19th minute of play forced Sundhof's goalkeeper Bertram Hagen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hans Bakunin got free with Bertram Hagen in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Niedermanderscheid's Karlheinz Sachse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanislaus Scheerer in the 41st minute of play. If Stanislaus Scheerer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agilo Prause kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 53rd minute, Jim Reeb ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bertram Hagen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Bertram Hagen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Bakunin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Steen Schering kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Stanislaus Scheerer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Jim Reeb ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bertram Hagen was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Karlheinz Sachse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanislaus Scheerer, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After 67 minutes Niedermanderscheid's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Burkhard Buttgereit who took care of the corner kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Niedermanderscheid:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sundhof:s goal. Bertram Hagen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agilo Prause in the 81st minute of the match.
