Jürg Frosch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niko Bobbenkamp read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Dominik Bandwerth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Schön having to interfere. Jan Schön made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauritz Brauer in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of FC Rügen 02 booed when Ebernhahn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Coppi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, Frederik Riester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Jürg Frosch came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the FC Rügen 02 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jürg Frosch couldn't finish the play. After 34 played minutes FC Rügen 02 got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Kotting. Jürg Frosch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jürg Frosch to make the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jürg Frosch in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Niko Bobbenkamp prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Rügen 02 were furious when Simon Weidt was red carded, 65 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Jan Schön showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauritz Brauer, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Frederik Riester had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Niko Bobbenkamp. Ebernhahn's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frederik Riester was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Dominik Bandwerth struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Jan Schön didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ebernhahn. Jan Schön showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lauritz Brauer in the 82nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederik Riester in the 88th minute of play forced Ebernhahn's goalkeeper Niko Bobbenkamp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Schön showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauritz Brauer, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Gert Blaumüller hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Dominik Bandwerth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. There was no doubt that FC Rügen 02 were the better team. FC Rügen 02's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
