Ronnie Schikorra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Beckmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Ralf Lade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Ronnie Schikorra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulrich Löffler's late challenge caught a Rottenbauer's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ulrich Löffler helped the player get up and apologised. After recieving a nice pass, Rottenbauer's Stephan Breyer tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ronnie Schikorra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralf Lade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Michael Beckmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Rottenbauer's goalkeeper Oliver Wollny had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erich Böcker. Oliver Wollny made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Erich Böcker sent off a good shot on target. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ralf Lade made a kick off. 1.FC Rumpelfüßler's Ronnie Schikorra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralf Lade in the 53rd minute of play. After 53 played minutes 1.FC Rumpelfüßler got a freekick which was hit by Béla Leßing. In the 55th minute, Ulrich Löffler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 56 minutes, Michael Beckmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rottenbauer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Beckmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erich Böcker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Wollny having to interfere. 1.FC Rumpelfüßler's Benedikt Ngnoubamdjum got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The 1.FC Rumpelfüßler fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Frederik Birke hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match.
