Joachim Moholt came out of the goal and Markus Cyrkel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Horatio Kraus fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ATHLETIC AUGSBURG's protests and gave Horatio Kraus a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Horatio Kraus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of VfB Preussen Greppin 1911 booed when ATHLETIC AUGSBURG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Markus Cyrkel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joachim Moholt came out and tried to block the shot, but Markus Cyrkel slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christoph Kortmann in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hartwin Hammer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to VfB Preussen Greppin 1911 getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Thomas Huhn hit a great ball. In the 68th minute of the match Francis Lenzen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hartwin Hammer skillfully saved the ball. 72 minutes into the match, VfB Preussen Greppin 1911's goal looked a bit too open when Stig Popitz came free, but Hartwin Hammer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 minutes, Markus Paul Eichenauer mouthed his way into the referee's book. In the 97th minute, ATHLETIC AUGSBURG's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Markus Cyrkel fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The VfB Preussen Greppin 1911 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
