With a little luck, Eifel FC's Dragan Kerth got control of the ball when Erwin Sander tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dragan Kerth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erwin Sander, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Rüdiger Maul could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Dragan Kerth however easily saved by the left post. In the 17th minute Petro Lamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragan Kerth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matthias Schmidt struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Johan Gleißberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eifel FC. Rüdiger Maul could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Dragan Kerth made a huge save. After some careless play in the Eifel FC defense, Rüdiger Maul kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dragan Kerth. The Eifel FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dragan Kerth should have stopped the shot. Rüdiger Maul could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Dragan Kerth made a huge save. 34 minutes into the match, Eifel FC's goalkeeper Dragan Kerth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petro Lamp. If Erwin Sander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Dietrich Bauers kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dragan Kerth. That made the score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. A collision led to Eifel FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Nicolas Kuschminder hit a great ball. A long shot from Laslo Thomale in the 43rd minute of play was well struck, but Dragan Kerth made a really good save at the right post. Erwin Sander struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Dragan Kerth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dittlofrod.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Monty Keilbach stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matthias Schmidt got free with Johan Gleißberg in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Matthias Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eifel FC's protests and gave Matthias Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. After 55 played minutes Eifel FC got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Schmidt. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rüdiger Maul in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dragan Kerth saved Eifel FC from getting behind. The supporters of Eifel FC booed when Dittlofrod was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petro Lamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dragan Kerth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rüdiger Maul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Monty Keilbach fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Dragan Kerth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dietrich Bauers in the 92nd minute of play. Dragan Kerth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erwin Sander in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 96th minute Rüdiger Maul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragan Kerth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Dittlofrod players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
