In the 2nd match minute, Adidas SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flemming Amelung to maneuver through the defense. When Yannik Buljevic came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the 1. FC Kleve fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yannik Buljevic couldn't finish the play. In the 6th minute Percy Schmalacker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Achim Uhrig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Adidas SV's goal looked a bit too open when Percy Schmalacker came free, but Achim Uhrig reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Akira Hölzgen made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Xerxes Graeßner sent off a good shot on target. Marcio Brandt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Akira Hölzgen. 1. FC Kleve's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 16th minute, Hayden Weißgerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Achim Uhrig came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by 1. FC Kleve's Percy Schmalacker. But to his dismay, Percy Schmalacker quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience was convinced that Yannik Buljevic's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Achim Uhrig was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Adidas SV's Achim Uhrig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yannik Buljevic in the 30th minute of play. After 33 played minutes, Adidas SV's Marcio Brandt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Akira Hölzgen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Adidas SV reached it. Achim Uhrig didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yannik Buljevic went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yannik Buljevic in the 45th minute of play forced Adidas SV's goalkeeper Achim Uhrig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Percy Schmalacker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Yannik Buljevic to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Thaddäus Gehrcke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Akira Hölzgen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thaddäus Gehrcke struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Akira Hölzgen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Adidas SV. In the 57th minute of the match, Yannik Buljevic tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Achim Uhrig saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 59th minute Yannik Buljevic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Achim Uhrig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Thaddäus Gehrcke came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Adidas SV fans jumped to their feet. Percy Schmalacker took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Achim Uhrig. Achim Uhrig dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Percy Schmalacker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Achim Uhrig made a huge save. If Percy Schmalacker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hayden Weißgerber charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hayden Weißgerber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 played minutes 1. FC Kleve got a freekick which was hit by Hayden Weißgerber. In the 87th minute, Flemming Amelung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Percy Schmalacker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achim Uhrig having to interfere. Percy Schmalacker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th match minute, Adidas SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswald Pless to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Achim Uhrig successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The 1. FC Kleve players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
