Engelbert Paul received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cedric Knorra came out and tried to block the shot, but Engelbert Paul slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. If Eicke Nowak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Orfgen fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Orfgen's Eicke Nowak looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Eicke Nowak struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Richard Dulitz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Orfgen. In the 30th minute Helko Scholven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Dulitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Eicke Nowak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Richard Dulitz was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Kristian Kirsch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orfgen's supporters rose to their feet, but Kristian Kirsch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Dulitz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorn Lange received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Greste's Richard Dulitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eicke Nowak in the 39th minute of play. When Jorn Lange came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Orfgen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorn Lange couldn't finish the play. Jann Rossel charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jann Rossel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jann Rossel kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Orfgen's Helko Scholven got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Richard Dulitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorn Lange in the 47th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Helko Scholven managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orfgen's supporters rose to their feet, but Helko Scholven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Dulitz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 61 played minutes, Orfgen's Derk Ehlert shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Richard Dulitz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Orfgen reached it. Kristian Kirsch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Orfgen booed when Greste was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jann Rossel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Dulitz came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Orfgen's Jorn Lange. But to his dismay, Jorn Lange quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Orfgen were furious when Hugh Huthmacher was red carded, 72 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a defensive mix-up in Greste's zone, Helko Scholven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard Dulitz came out of the goal and Helko Scholven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Orfgen's Richard Dulitz threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jorn Lange, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Eberhard Brendel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Greste's Richard Dulitz got control of the ball when Jorn Lange tried to sneak it across the goal line. Helko Scholven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Dulitz having to interfere. Greste's Richard Dulitz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Greste from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Greste's zone, Helko Scholven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard Dulitz came out of the goal and Helko Scholven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 98th minute Engelbert Paul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cedric Knorra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
