Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dragan Kömm in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moritz Weise prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 15th match minute, Helfern was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristian Heiduk to maneuver through the defense. Gernot Falke hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Dragan Kömm took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Moritz Weise to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Helfern's zone, Dragan Kömm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moritz Weise came out of the goal and Dragan Kömm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Helfern booed when FSV Harz Thale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Brozulat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hossam Hurst kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Thorsten Becker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eberhard Steinkamp in the 34th minute of play. Moritz Weise was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Dragan Kömm capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dragan Kömm really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esra Hoppensack in the 44th minute of play forced FSV Harz Thale's goalkeeper Thorsten Becker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FSV Harz Thale getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Sönke Grupe hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Eberhard Steinkamp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Helfern's supporters rose to their feet, but Eberhard Steinkamp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thorsten Becker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Helfern's Eberhard Steinkamp got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eberhard Steinkamp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Moritz Weise showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karel Brockes, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the match, FSV Harz Thale's goal looked a bit too open when Eberhard Steinkamp came free, but Thorsten Becker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Eberhard Steinkamp came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Helfern fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eberhard Steinkamp couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, FSV Harz Thale's Thorsten Becker got control of the ball when Esra Hoppensack tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sönke Grupe charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sönke Grupe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sönke Grupe hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Karel Brockes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karel Brockes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moritz Weise having to interfere. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Helfern's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sebastian Brozulat was slow to take the kick. During this time FSV Harz Thale's players had a chance to rest. FSV Harz Thale's Sebastian Brozulat was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Moritz Weise in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Dragan Kömm came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the FSV Harz Thale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dragan Kömm couldn't finish the play. If Karel Brockes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, Esra Hoppensack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esra Hoppensack's late challenge caught a FSV Harz Thale's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esra Hoppensack helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Helfern's Esra Hoppensack got a free kick in the 88th minute. Ulf Bräcklein's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thorsten Becker read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. After 94 minutes of play FSV Harz Thale's Sönke Grupe was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 95th match minute, FSV Harz Thale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sönke Grupe to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute, Esra Hoppensack fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
