Markus Markau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tim Pappert in the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimund Sachs in the 10th minute of play forced Walsrode's goalkeeper Markus Markau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tim Pappert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walsrode's supporters rose to their feet, but Simon Hospelt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Gehre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Raimund Sachs fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Süd Dunum's protests and gave Raimund Sachs a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Raimund Sachs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Walsrode getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Frank Frank hit a great ball. Jan Gehre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Hospelt in the 39th minute of play. Simon Hospelt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Gehre having to interfere. After the first half Süd Dunum were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Hospelt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thilo Kesper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Markus Markau having to interfere. Walsrode's Markus Markau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim Pappert in the 53rd minute of play. Simon Hospelt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Simon Hospelt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jost Jahr recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Markus Markau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tim Pappert in the 67th minute. Walsrode's Jost Jahr got his second yellow card of the match in the 69th minute. The referee ordered Jost Jahr off the ground. After a rather tough play, Walsrode's Jost Jahr got a free kick in the 70th minute. The goalkeeper, Markus Markau, was totally fooled by Süd Dunum's Markus Paul Liche, who 73 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, Süd Dunum's Raimund Sachs got a free kick in the 80th minute. If Jonas Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When William Mistol fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Süd Dunum's protests and gave William Mistol a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, William Mistol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Heiko Gharibian fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Walsrode's protests and gave Heiko Gharibian a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Süd Dunum booed when Walsrode was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heiko Gharibian didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Süd Dunum's Markus Paul Liche broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Süd Dunum were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Walsrode side.
