In the 20th minute of the match, Otmar Bamberg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sebastian Höfken saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Antti Häfner's late challenge caught a Manchester of United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Alan Gentner came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Manchester of United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Gentner couldn't finish the play. Robin Schuckart hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the match, Stockem's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Gentner came free, but Sebastian Höfken reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Otmar Bamberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastian Höfken made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Konstantin Port sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Manchester of United's Otmar Bamberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastian Höfken. That made the score 2-0 after 40 minutes of play. Alan Gentner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Höfken having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Otmar Bamberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Manchester of United booed when Stockem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Schäfer didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Otmar Bamberg in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastian Höfken saved Stockem from getting behind. Sebastian Höfken didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulrik Hackert went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Stockem defense, Otmar Bamberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastian Höfken. The Stockem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastian Höfken should have stopped the shot. After 74 played minutes Manchester of United got a freekick which was hit by Otmar Bamberg. An unexpectedly hard shot by Konstantin Port in the 78th minute of play forced Stockem's goalkeeper Sebastian Höfken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otmar Bamberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastian Höfken having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Konstantin Port in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastian Höfken saved Stockem from getting behind. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Manchester of United fully deserved thier win.
