Georg Kracht made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Henrico Auer sent off a good shot on target. 7 minutes into the match, Armin Egger notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Pohlheim's Tommy Bockhahn. Tommy Bockhahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Armin Egger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Bockhahn having to interfere. Roger Sundmacher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Tommy Bockhahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henrico Auer struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Georg Kracht didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pohlheim. Henry Öhlmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mount Ararat's Georg Kracht played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Öhlmann in the 28th minute of play. When Jupp Knoop fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pohlheim's protests and gave Jupp Knoop a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th match minute, Pohlheim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jupp Knoop to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute Roger Sundmacher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Bockhahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Pohlheim got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Hassel. The supporters of Mount Ararat booed when Pohlheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrico Auer didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hauke Danielzick in the 51st minute of play forced Pohlheim's goalkeeper Tommy Bockhahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Georg Kracht showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henry Öhlmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Tommy Bockhahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Sundmacher in the 82nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roger Sundmacher in the 100th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Bockhahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
