Torben Kühner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Konrad Venzke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in German Patriots's zone, Konrad Venzke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torben Kühner came out of the goal and Konrad Venzke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Steven Blömeke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to German Patriots getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Harry Graul hit a great ball. Henning Heffungs kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Torben Kühner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Melchior Deicke in the 30th minute. Heiner Nafz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Blömeke, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Hamburg Suns's Konrad Venzke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Torben Kühner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Melchior Deicke got free with Torben Kühner in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by German Patriots's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Oskar Vogeler was slow to take the kick. During this time Hamburg Suns's players had a chance to rest. York Pickart's late challenge caught a German Patriots's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. York Pickart helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hamburg Suns's York Pickart got a free kick in the 42nd minute. When Melchior Deicke came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Hamburg Suns fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Melchior Deicke couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Steven Blömeke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Konrad Venzke made a precise shot to the right of Torben Kühner. German Patriots's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Melchior Deicke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torben Kühner having to interfere. Melchior Deicke took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Torben Kühner. Torben Kühner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Konrad Venzke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torben Kühner having to interfere. If Melchior Deicke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Konrad Venzke put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Torben Kühner. After some careless play in the German Patriots defense, Melchior Deicke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Torben Kühner. The German Patriots fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Torben Kühner should have stopped the shot. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind German Patriots's goalkeeper Torben Kühner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Konrad Venzke struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Torben Kühner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamburg Suns. After having played for 82 minutes, Konrad Venzke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hamburg Suns's supporters crossed their fingers, but Konrad Venzke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Hamburg Suns was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by York Pickart to maneuver through the defense. Torben Kühner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melchior Deicke in the 87th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Konrad Venzke notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of German Patriots's Torben Kühner. Torben Kühner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 95th minute, Niko Krüger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Steven Blömeke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamburg Suns walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
