Günter Nievelstein came out of the goal and Jakob Tollmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Erwin Jablonski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Günter Nievelstein came out and tried to block the shot, but Erwin Jablonski slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 53rd minute. Günter Nievelstein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jakob Tollmann's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Roland Schacht showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinhold Apostel in the 58th minute of the match. Jakob Tollmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Günter Nievelstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Otmar Trimpin threw the ball into play from the sideline. Altenbork's Franz Dziersan quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The nice shot from Erwin Jablonski in the 70thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Günter Nievelstein had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Erwin Jablonski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Latrop's goal looked a bit too open when Jakob Tollmann came free, but Günter Nievelstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erwin Jablonskis short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Günter Nievelstein to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Latrop's Günter Nievelstein got control of the ball when Erwin Jablonski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Günter Nievelstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakob Tollmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Altenbork's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
