After a rather tough play, Merten's Alois Erbach got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Merten's zone, Raimund Lamp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johann Dilling came out of the goal and Raimund Lamp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matthias Damerau during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Matthias Damerau hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute Emanuel Sobieray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johann Dilling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Lehenwies's goal looked a bit too open when Matthias Damerau came free, but Delfim de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lehenwies's Delfim de Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claus Renger in the 10th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Lehenwies's goal looked a bit too open when Matthias Damerau came free, but Delfim de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delfim de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armin Reh, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Raimund Lamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th match minute, Merten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthias Damerau to maneuver through the defense. If Raimund Lamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Armin Reh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johann Dilling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Sobieray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delfim de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claus Renger, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 35 played minutes Lehenwies got a freekick which was hit by Faruk Winheim. 42 minutes into the game, Eric Fritzen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Delfim de Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 46 minutes into the match, Armin Reh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Delfim de Sousa. Lehenwies's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armin Reh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3.

Lehenwies's Delfim de Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adnan Beckstedde in the 58th minute of play. With a little luck, Lehenwies's Delfim de Sousa got control of the ball when Armin Reh tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Raimund Lamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Merten getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Eric Fritzen hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Emanuel Sobieray ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johann Dilling was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Raimund Lamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jochen Muhr hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Armin Reh received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Delfim de Sousa came out and tried to block the shot, but Armin Reh slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 87th minute. Merten played a much better game than Lehenwies and deserved their victory. The Lehenwies players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
