Carsten Marienfeld charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerold Zinnbauer in the 94th minute of play forced Manchester City F.C's goalkeeper Klaus Riestenpatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Fritz Arnold put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Klaus Riestenpatt. There was no doubt that FSV STENDAL 23 were the better team. FSV STENDAL 23's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
