After a rather tough play, Ponlehen FSV's Julius Garczyk got a free kick in the 20th minute. Stefan Kutzmutz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerke Hennig read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ponlehen FSV's zone, Ulrich Gabler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerke Hennig came out of the goal and Ulrich Gabler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Ponlehen FSV getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Arnim Kircher hit a great ball. Leif Störmsdörfer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Gerke Hennig made a huge save. A collision led to Sensfelder Hof FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Lasse Wottka hit a great ball. When Leif Störmsdörfer fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sensfelder Hof FC's protests and gave Leif Störmsdörfer a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes Sensfelder Hof FC got a freekick which was hit by Leif Störmsdörfer. The supporters of Sensfelder Hof FC booed when Ponlehen FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaap von Gyldenfeldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Ponlehen FSV's goalkeeper Gerke Hennig had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leif Störmsdörfer. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Ulrich Gabler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sensfelder Hof FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulrich Gabler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerke Hennig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leif Störmsdörfer struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Gerke Hennig didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sensfelder Hof FC. Jaap von Gyldenfeldt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yavuz Schneller having to make a save. Leif Störmsdörfer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerke Hennig having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mike Schabel was the one to do the kick off. Yavuz Schneller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaap von Gyldenfeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Mike Schabel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the game, Leonid Dreyer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponlehen FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sensfelder Hof FC the free kick. The supporters of Sensfelder Hof FC booed when Ponlehen FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonid Dreyer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rdth minute of the game Jaap von Gyldenfeldt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sensfelder Hof FC's Yavuz Schneller was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Jaap von Gyldenfeldt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yavuz Schneller. That made the score 0-2 in the 77 minute of play. In the 82nd minute of the match, Jaap von Gyldenfeldt tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Yavuz Schneller saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Yavuz Schneller made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaap von Gyldenfeldt in the 83rd minute. Klaus-Dieter Hesse hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 89 minutes into the game, Ponlehen FSV's Jaap von Gyldenfeldt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yavuz Schneller made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. If Leif Störmsdörfer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
