The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yavuz Mehnert was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute, Christos Schuhmacher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chris Achminow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Borkmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC LEYONs's Chris Achminow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bastian Schewe in the 69th minute of play. With a little luck, FC LEYONs's Chris Achminow got control of the ball when Rainer Mischau tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Yavuz Mehnert kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Chris Achminow. That made the score 1-3 in the 75 minute of play. Walter Baltzer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 85 played minutes FC LEYONs got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Ziegelmüller. Chris Achminow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yavuz Mehnert, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. With a little luck, FC LEYONs's Chris Achminow got control of the ball when Bastian Schewe tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Lasse Eckart came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Saaebrückensport fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lasse Eckart couldn't finish the play. If Walter Baltzer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
