Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Remo Klauß started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Burscheid's Ole Per Gerloff got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After 5 played minutes, Lahr's Christoph Schnuphase shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Per Osthoff came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lahr reached it. Remo Klauß sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 12 minutes, Remo Klauß managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burscheid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remo Klauß was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marco Mühlstein charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Mühlstein the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 13 played minutes Burscheid got a freekick which was hit by Marco Mühlstein. After a rather tough play, Burscheid's Ole Per Gerloff got a free kick in the 16th minute. Per Osthoff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfried Schabbel in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfried Schabbel in the 31st minute of play forced Burscheid's goalkeeper Per Osthoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remo Klauß might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard Mühlhäuser. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Remo Klauß ran back to his position shaking his head. Richard Mühlhäuser made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gregor Marsing in the 34th minute. Lahr's Richard Mühlhäuser proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Lahr from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Seidenberg in the 42nd minute of play forced Burscheid's goalkeeper Per Osthoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilfried Schabbel to strike the kick off in the second half. Richard Mühlhäuser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregor Marsing in the 55th minute of play. After 57 played minutes Lahr got a freekick which was hit by Matthäus Schulte. In the 58th minute Gregor Marsing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Mühlhäuser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, Tim Seidenberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Per Osthoff was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Wilfried Schabbel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gregor Marsing struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Richard Mühlhäuser didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Burscheid. After having played for 70 minutes, Remo Klauß managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When Marco Mühlstein was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 87 minutes had been played. After 94 minutes, Shingo Rieger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Burscheid and the Lahr players grew even worse after the yellow card. Shingo Rieger hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Burscheid were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lahr for a fine match.
