Sönke Ramme hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Arpad Keidel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Struck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Struck in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arpad Keidel saved Kerzenheim from getting behind. Jonathan Struck struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Arpad Keidel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Augsburg. A collision led to Kerzenheim getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Nikolaus Raab hit a great ball. Sönke Ramme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theobald Watzek having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kerzenheim's zone, Domenico Schaub stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arpad Keidel came out of the goal and Domenico Schaub tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Domenico Schaub received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Arpad Keidel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Domenico Schaub managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Augsburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Domenico Schaub was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arpad Keidel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Struck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Arpad Keidel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rüdiger Traband could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Theobald Watzek made a huge save. Arpad Keidel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Struck in the 44th minute of the match. Jonathan Struck took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arpad Keidel. Arpad Keidel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 52nd minute Silvester Schaumer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theobald Watzek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Domenico Schaub came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the FC Augsburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domenico Schaub couldn't finish the play. If Jonathan Struck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leopold Gerlinger charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With his leg Arpad Keidel managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when FC Augsburg's Domenico Schaub fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. FC Augsburg's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
