With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diego Jokerst prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thilo Zimmermann in the 27th minute of play forced Finne's goalkeeper Ramon Schulte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Alexander Pfahl got his second yellow card in the match during the 53rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 53 played minutes Finne got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Pfahl. Diego Jokerst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Wachsmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thilo Zimmermann received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ramon Schulte came out and tried to block the shot, but Thilo Zimmermann slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 61st minute. Diego Jokerst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Wachsmann in the 64th minute of the match. When Manuel Wachsmann came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Finne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Wachsmann couldn't finish the play. Jo Stockhaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Wachsmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Diego Jokerst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute of the match, Thilo Zimmermann tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ramon Schulte saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
