Philippe Domann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niko Hüsken in the 15th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Olching's zone, Patrick Fiedler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philippe Domann came out of the goal and Patrick Fiedler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Niko Hüsken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philippe Domann having to interfere. After some careless play in the Borussia Dortmund defense, Achim Terpe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sean Hammermüller. The Borussia Dortmund fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sean Hammermüller should have stopped the shot. 26 minutes into the match, Olching's goalkeeper Philippe Domann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrick Fiedler. Achim Terpe might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sean Hammermüller. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Achim Terpe ran back to his position shaking his head. Patrick Fiedler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sean Hammermüller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börje Kempf, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 39 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Tarik Köpsel. Sean Hammermüller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Börje Kempf in the 42nd minute of play. Börje Kempf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Börje Kempf to strike the kick off in the second half. Philippe Domann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niko Hüsken, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Luca Funk's late challenge caught a Borussia Dortmund's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luca Funk helped the player get up and apologised. Borussia Dortmund's Patrick Fiedler got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Philippe Domann came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Borussia Dortmund's Niko Hüsken. But to his dismay, Niko Hüsken quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Achim Terpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Achim Terpe in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sean Hammermüller, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sean Hammermüller made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Achim Terpe sent off a good shot on target. In the 85th minute of the match Gregor Halfpap sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Philippe Domann skillfully saved the ball. Achim Terpe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Sean Hammermüller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
