The supporters of FC Niceguys booed when Werdohl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernan Della didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Werdohl's zone, Hermann Bell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Lotter came out of the goal and Hermann Bell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a defensive mix-up in Werdohl's zone, Gustel Sänger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Lotter came out of the goal and Gustel Sänger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, FC Niceguys's Paulo Lotter threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gustel Sänger, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 26th match minute, FC Niceguys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Kirchner to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Hernan Della's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gabriel Meier was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Paulo Lotter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gustel Sänger was the one to do the kick off.
