Conny Mannheim might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joachim Deckert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Conny Mannheim ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of SV Sandhausen booed when Kicker Krefeld was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ludwig Betz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Noel Bayer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfried Kleppinger in the 97th minute of play forced SV Sandhausen's goalkeeper Joachim Deckert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Conny Mannheim took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joachim Deckert. Joachim Deckert dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When the final whistle sounded Kicker Krefeld left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SV Sandhausen.
