When Poldi Herdzik fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Sandhausen's protests and gave Poldi Herdzik a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SV Sandhausen getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Poldi Herdzik hit a great ball. After having played for 4 minutes, Dieter Runde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ölerfc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dieter Runde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lukas Amberger was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sascha Kebeis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Sebastian Evertz lost his temper 13 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Lukas Amberger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jürgen Immel, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Lukas Amberger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jürgen Immel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joachim Deckert didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matthias Teufel went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Nico Kaufmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matthias Teufel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Joachim Deckert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Helmut Schöpf got free with Lukas Amberger in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nico Kaufmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Deckert having to interfere. If Nico Kaufmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sascha Kebeis to make the kick off. Helmut Schöpf kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. A collision led to Ölerfc getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Boris Schamaitis hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Helmut Schöpf notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ölerfc's Lukas Amberger. Lukas Amberger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jürgen Immel in the 67th minute of play forced Ölerfc's goalkeeper Lukas Amberger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of SV Sandhausen booed when Ölerfc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dieter Runde didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SV Sandhausen's zone, Nico Kaufmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joachim Deckert came out of the goal and Nico Kaufmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ölerfc's Lukas Amberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jürgen Immel in the 80th minute of play. Lukas Amberger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sascha Kebeis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lukas Amberger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sascha Kebeis in the 86th minute of the match. Nico Kaufmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nico Kaufmann struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Joachim Deckert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ölerfc. Joachim Deckert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fredrik Hendricks, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 96th minute Nico Kaufmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Deckert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the SV Sandhausen players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
