Gerd Weyerich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfried Kleppinger in the 16th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Kicker Krefeld's Wilfried Kleppinger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerd Weyerich narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 29th minute Lars Grünewald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Curt Hourani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sascha Appel's late challenge caught a Kicker Krefeld's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sascha Appel helped the player get up and apologised. If Lars Grünewald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Günther Manes kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 43rd match minute, Kicker Krefeld was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steffen Bürsch to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Kicker Krefeld's goalkeeper Curt Hourani had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Memet Ebert. Gerd Weyerich didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilfried Kleppinger went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilfried Kleppinger was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute Lars Grünewald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Curt Hourani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, Memet Ebert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ramsenthal FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Kicker Krefeld's Wilfried Kleppinger got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Sascha Appel was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. A collision led to Ramsenthal FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Sascha Appel hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Ramsenthal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfried Kleppinger came free, but Gerd Weyerich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Gerd Weyerich successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 73 played minutes Ramsenthal FC got a freekick which was hit by Evert Altmeier. The supporters of Kicker Krefeld booed when Ramsenthal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Altmeier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilfried Kleppinger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Gerd Weyerich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 85th minute, but Gerd Weyerich got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Ramsenthal FC hanging dry this time. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conny Mannheim got free with Gerd Weyerich in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Memet Ebert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Kicker Krefeld's goal looked a bit too open when Memet Ebert came free, but Curt Hourani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
