Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Hamburger SV's Karsten Bath started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karsten Bath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henning Rühmann having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Ilserheide FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sol Motz to maneuver through the defense. Sebastian Kullig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Karsten Bath put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Henning Rühmann. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Karsten Bath sped through Ilserheide FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Henning Rühmann. When Berko Henke came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Ilserheide FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Berko Henke couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the match, Ilserheide FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Kullig came free, but Henning Rühmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Kullig in the 36th minute of play forced Ilserheide FC's goalkeeper Henning Rühmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henning Rühmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Bath in the 38th minute of play. Sol Motz hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Karsten Bath had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henning Rühmann. Ilserheide FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karsten Bath was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Sebastian Kullig took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Henning Rühmann. Henning Rühmann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Deon Grooten to strike the kick off in the second half. Sebastian Kullig in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henning Rühmann, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Balko Schiewerling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deon Grooten in the 59th minute of play. After 60 played minutes Hamburger SV got a freekick which was hit by Christoph Butenweg. Sebastian Kulligs short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Henning Rühmann to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Henning Rühmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Bath in the 63rd minute of play. Karsten Bath sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christoph Butenweg during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ilserheide FC booed when Hamburger SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christoph Butenweg didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berko Henke in the 74th minute of play forced Hamburger SV's goalkeeper Balko Schiewerling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henning Rühmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karsten Bath in the 77th minute of the match. Henning Rühmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Bath in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to Ilserheide FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Deon Grooten hit a great ball. Sebastian Kullig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Henning Rühmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karsten Bath might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henning Rühmann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karsten Bath ran back to his position shaking his head. If Sebastian Kullig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 89 played minutes Ilserheide FC got a freekick which was hit by Deon Grooten. Ilserheide FC's Henning Rühmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Ilserheide FC from getting a goal against them. The Hamburger SV supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hamburger SV would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
