Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sebastian Kullig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Karsten Bath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Balko Schiewerling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jannik Benischke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the game, SV Luikicker's Jannik Benischke nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Balko Schiewerling made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 15 minutes into the game, Berend Kellner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SV Luikicker's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hamburger SV the free kick. In the 15th match minute, SV Luikicker was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berend Kellner to maneuver through the defense. SV Luikicker's Connor Löhr proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save SV Luikicker from getting a goal against them. Erhard Schnaars received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. SV Luikicker's Berend Kellner got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastian Kullig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Hamburger SV's Karsten Bath ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Connor Löhr. Connor Löhr yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Jannik Benischke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some careless play in the SV Luikicker defense, Karsten Bath kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Connor Löhr. The SV Luikicker fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Connor Löhr should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jannik Benischke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of SV Luikicker booed when Hamburger SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rainer Jener didn't get a good kick on the ball. Connor Löhr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Bath in the 54th minute of play.
