Otmar Elsner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robert Ohlicher went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Robert Ohlicher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert Ohlicher in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otmar Elsner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute Robert Ohlicher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otmar Elsner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Gelsenkirchener jungs's Lennart Pleschke slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Erko Kranz. That made the score 1-2 after 32 minutes of play. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Robert Ohlicher put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Otmar Elsner. After having played for 41 minutes, Robert Ohlicher managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sportfreunde Laubendorf's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Ohlicher was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joachim Abälard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Erko Kranz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anjo Kölzig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anselm Bohne made in the 55th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Tonio Stehmer. If Robert Ohlicher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Robert Ohlicher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sportfreunde Laubendorf's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert Ohlicher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otmar Elsner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Otmar Elsner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Ohlicher in the 63rd minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Sportfreunde Laubendorf's goal looked a bit too open when Anjo Kölzig came free, but Erko Kranz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Volker Jahn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the match, Lennart Pleschke had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erko Kranz. Sportfreunde Laubendorf's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lennart Pleschke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. 84 minutes into the match, Robert Ohlicher dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Otmar Elsner, 4-4. Gelsenkirchener jungs's Otmar Elsner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Ohlicher in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of Gelsenkirchener jungs booed when Sportfreunde Laubendorf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joachim Abälard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erko Kranz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ted Habbel in the 92nd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Gelsenkirchener jungs's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Ohlicher came free, but Otmar Elsner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
