After 17 minutes, Claudius Thumser mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VfL Blau Weiß and the FC Westsachsen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dankward Grimm made a great header on FC Westsachsen's corner, it was just that VfL Blau Weiß's Jorg Gerhold managed to reach the ball for a save.

FC Westsachsen's Ole Regitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Welf Surkemper in the 98th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. VfL Blau Weiß had won after a very even match.
