Bert Becker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Achim Tuchel, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 36 minutes in the game, Detlef Schapiro dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Levan Schub received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Achim Tuchel made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Horst Hackbarth had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bert Becker. Oldenbüttel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horst Hackbarth was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Roland Tetzlaff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Marc Huhn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Achim Tuchel came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Torpedo Babelsberg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Achim Tuchel couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 100th minute, Horst Hackbarth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torpedo Babelsberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Horst Hackbarth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bert Becker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Torpedo Babelsberg's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
