In the 7th minute of the match Phil Pflug sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hans Lojewski skillfully saved the ball. Torpedo Babelsberg's Hans Lojewski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Torpedo Babelsberg from getting a goal against them. If Silverio Hanot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silverio Hanot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Hans Lojewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Hunteburger SV's goal looked a bit too open when Achim Tuchel came free, but Waldemar Pietrowiak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Horst Hackbarth left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Waldemar Pietrowiak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horst Hackbarth in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Torpedo Babelsberg's goal looked a bit too open when Björn Andersen came free, but Hans Lojewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silverio Hanot got free with Hans Lojewski in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Torpedo Babelsberg's zone, Fabian Stöckl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans Lojewski came out of the goal and Fabian Stöckl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Torpedo Babelsberg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Silverio Hanot scored to the left of an out of position Hans Lojewski, making the score, 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silverio Hanot to make the kick off. Björn Andersen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Hans Lojewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Torpedo Babelsberg's Horst Hackbarth got a free kick in the 57th minute. The audience was convinced that Silverio Hanot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans Lojewski was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Hans Lojewski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silverio Hanot in the 60th minute of the match. The supporters of Hunteburger SV booed when Torpedo Babelsberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laurent Waddey didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silverio Hanot in the 68th minute of play forced Torpedo Babelsberg's goalkeeper Hans Lojewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute Björn Andersen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Lojewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute, Björn Andersen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hans Lojewski was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Waldemar Pietrowiak successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Horst Hackbarth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Waldemar Pietrowiak made a huge save. Hans Lojewski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Björn Andersen in the 86th minute of the match. Fabian Stöckl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Hans Lojewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 88 played minutes Torpedo Babelsberg got a freekick which was hit by Franz Schlagbauer. Hunteburger SV walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
