With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexander Omilade in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Augustin Tschorn saved FSV Straubing from getting behind. In the 7th match minute, Nein zu RB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Gust to maneuver through the defense. If Bill Frick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FSV Straubing's Augustin Tschorn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Gust in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Sebastian Jennen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 16 minutes into the game, Harald Koschinski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FSV Straubing's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nein zu RB the free kick. In the 17th match minute, FSV Straubing was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harald Koschinski to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Nils Mukengechay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patrick Gust fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augustin Tschorn having to interfere. Jakob Baumung's late challenge caught a Nein zu RB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jakob Baumung helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Nein zu RB booed when FSV Straubing was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jakob Baumung didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute Patrick Gust shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augustin Tschorn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the FSV Straubing defense, Alexander Omilade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Augustin Tschorn. The FSV Straubing fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Augustin Tschorn should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nils Mukengechay got free with Gustavo Scarpa in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nils Mukengechay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Gustavo Scarpa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Nein zu RB's Gustavo Scarpa got control of the ball when Nils Mukengechay tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustavo Scarpa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill Frick, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Jennen in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augustin Tschorn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Nein zu RB's Alexander Omilade in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FSV Straubing's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half Nein zu RB were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patrick Gust to strike the kick off in the second half. After 59 played minutes FSV Straubing got a freekick which was hit by Ludwig Drechsler. In the 61st minute Nils Mukengechay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Scarpa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 94 in the game by Alexander Omilade from a close distance when the talented Augustin Tschorn managed to make a qualified save. FSV Straubing's players were relieved. With an all-out effort, Nein zu RB's Augustin Tschorn threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sebastian Jennen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. FSV Straubing succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Nein zu RB had controlled the match.
