Markus Rampe's late challenge caught a FCWesel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Markus Rampe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Herbert Hemling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nikolas Baum hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Marc Waidner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dittmar Wachtmann in the 12th minute of play. When Büllhorn's Dittmar Wachtmann in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Marc Waidner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 38 minutes, Herbert Hemling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FCWesel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herbert Hemling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FCWesel's Marc Waidner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dittmar Wachtmann in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dittmar Wachtmann in the 45th minute of play forced FCWesel's goalkeeper Marc Waidner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marc Waidner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Franke in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Herbert Hemling made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Kevin Franke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Waidner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc Waidner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dittmar Wachtmann in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Raoul Erfurt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FCWesel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Büllhorn the free kick. Raoul Erfurt kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Elmar Peschke was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 65 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in FCWesel fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! The audience thought a goal was coming when Markus Rampe got free with Marc Waidner in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th minute, Wolf Rillert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marc Waidner was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 77 minutes into the game, Kevin Franke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Marc Waidner was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marc Waidner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Grupe in the 84th minute of the match. When Büllhorn's Wolf Rillert in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FCWesel's goalie prevented a goal. The Büllhorn supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Büllhorn would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
