Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Immanuel Husser kicked off to start the match. Kurt-Jürgen Rinke charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kurt-Jürgen Rinke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th minute, Kurt-Jürgen Rinke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Hölderlin-Goethe defense, Immanuel Husser kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tobias Kaske. The Hölderlin-Goethe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tobias Kaske should have stopped the shot. After having played for 12 minutes, Klaus Ratkowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Schalke 04 II's supporters crossed their fingers, but Klaus Ratkowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ari Bonhoeffer hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Hölderlin-Goethe's Torsten Henning dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. 33 minutes into the match, Torsten Henning notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Schalke 04 II's Burkhard Sudhoff. Burkhard Sudhoff was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Torsten Henning's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Burkhard Sudhoff was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Tobias Kaske made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Klaus Ratkowski in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Mischa Hilsberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tobias Kaske. Hölderlin-Goethe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mischa Hilsberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Torsten Henning made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Torsten Henning ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Burkhard Sudhoff was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. In the 56th minute Torsten Henning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burkhard Sudhoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Hölderlin-Goethe's Tobias Kaske got control of the ball when Klaus Ratkowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Immanuel Husser struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Tobias Kaske didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schalke 04 II. Hölderlin-Goethe's Tobias Kaske proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Hölderlin-Goethe from getting a goal against them. Burkhard Sudhoff stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Torsten Henning's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After 80 minutes, Robert Habbel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hölderlin-Goethe and the Schalke 04 II players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Hölderlin-Goethe:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Schalke 04 II:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Hölderlin-Goethe's zone, Immanuel Husser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tobias Kaske came out of the goal and Immanuel Husser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Torsten Henning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Burkhard Sudhoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Torsten Henning got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tobias Kaske showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Immanuel Husser in the 92nd minute of the match. Tobias Kaske was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Immanuel Husser capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Immanuel Husser really showed his touch with that goal: 4-4. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
