Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5875, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bastian Biehl kicked off to start the match. When Bastian Biehl came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Crotta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bastian Biehl couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the game, Holm Freund was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Crotta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mödesse the free kick. Holm Freund kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Fritz Rudolf Kleinert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bastian Biehl in the 10th minute of play. Udo Stehle charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Udo Stehle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Udo Stehle hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Udo Stehle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mödesse's supporters rose to their feet, but Udo Stehle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erno Günes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bastian Biehl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 25 minutes on the clock, Hardy Niestroj commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Crotta! Fritz Rudolf Kleinert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bastian Biehl, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 37 played minutes Crotta got a freekick which was hit by Bastian Biehl. Ulf Funk hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 40 minutes of play, Crotta's Bastian Biehl made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fritz Rudolf Kleinert was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Crotta's Erno Günes got control of the ball when Lars Bohse tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lars Bohse stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Crotta's Gerd Grawe pulled a muscle in his leg after 57 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Mirko Krumnow fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mödesse's protests and gave Mirko Krumnow a yellow card for diving instead. Crotta made a substitution. Manuel Wichtel replaced Gerd Grawe. Fritz Rudolf Kleinert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bastian Biehl, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Udo Stehle struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Erno Günes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mödesse. When Kai Marx fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crotta's protests and gave Kai Marx a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th minute, Kai Marx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bastian Biehl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Fritz Rudolf Kleinert when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fritz Rudolf Kleinert came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Crotta's Bastian Biehl. But to his dismay, Bastian Biehl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2.
