Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jochen Ockert started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Jochen Ockert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jakob Berrang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jochen Ockert in the 17th minute of play. Blut Royale Cologne were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after SpVgg Mittelfranken 73's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jochen Ockert took the corner. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Patrick-Marc Wallner advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-0 in the 18th minute. Ramon Guzikowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudius van Essen in the 21st minute of the match. Claudius van Essen took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ramon Guzikowski. Ramon Guzikowski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 31 played minutes Blut Royale Cologne got a freekick which was hit by Kai Quack. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Jochen Ockert took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Jakob Berrang to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Claudius van Essen made the kick off in the second half. Jakob Berrang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jochen Ockert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blut Royale Cologne's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Claudius van Essen 56 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. When Urs Mahne fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SpVgg Mittelfranken 73's protests and gave Urs Mahne a yellow card for diving instead. After 60 played minutes SpVgg Mittelfranken 73 got a freekick which was hit by Urs Mahne. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kai Quack in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jakob Berrang saved SpVgg Mittelfranken 73 from getting behind. When Claudius van Essen came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the SpVgg Mittelfranken 73 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudius van Essen couldn't finish the play. Jakob Berrang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jochen Ockert in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th minute Axel Rössel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jakob Berrang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Blut Royale Cologne booed when SpVgg Mittelfranken 73 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niko Saager didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrick-Marc Wallner kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 72 played minutes SpVgg Mittelfranken 73 got a freekick which was hit by Klaus-Dieter Dormuth. 75 minutes into the match, Jochen Ockert notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of SpVgg Mittelfranken 73's Jakob Berrang. Jakob Berrang was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Ignaz Siebert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kai Quack in the 81st minute of play forced SpVgg Mittelfranken 73's goalkeeper Jakob Berrang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramon Guzikowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudius van Essen in the 96th minute of the match.
