The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamin Saborowski got free with Ingo Stromann in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Borr defense, Roman Busch kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mario Jehle. The Borr fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mario Jehle should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Borr getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Heinrich Ulitzka hit a great ball. SC Weser Kickers's Ingo Alspach couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 9th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Borr. In the 11th minute, Eduard Strobl ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mario Jehle was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in SC Weser Kickers's zone, Per Stiig Lenke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ingo Stromann came out of the goal and Per Stiig Lenke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Eduard Strobl put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Mario Jehle. After 24 played minutes Borr got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Saborowski. Borr's Mario Jehle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Busch in the 27th minute of play. Friedl Chakravorty kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Borr's Hartmut Prott got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Borr's Benjamin Saborowski got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benjamin Saborowski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mario Jehle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduard Strobl in the 54th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, SC Weser Kickers's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Hillenbrand came free, but Ingo Stromann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Weser Kickers's Roman Busch was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 62nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. With an all-out effort, SC Weser Kickers's Mario Jehle threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eduard Strobl, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 86 minutes, Chris Hillenbrand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borr's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chris Hillenbrand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eduard Strobl during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th match minute, SC Weser Kickers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduard Strobl to maneuver through the defense. Chants of SC Weser Kickers echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Borr had held the ball for most of the match.
