Arne Fabry scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mark Saak, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 15 played minutes SV Bauar Köln got a freekick which was hit by Thorsten Muring. Ellis Sinn hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Mark Saak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arne Fabry in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Albert Miersch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SV Bauar Köln fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Holzbein Kiel's Mark Saak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Marzok in the 22nd minute of play. Peter Huppertz stood somewhat misplaced when Thomas Haraszti came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 27 minute. 33 minutes into the game, Kurt Marzok was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SV Bauar Köln's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Holzbein Kiel the free kick. Kurt Marzok kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Quirin Saur was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 34th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Caspar Finkel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thomas Haraszti was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Holzbein Kiel were awarded a corner. Quirin Saur went to the cornerflag to take it. Quirin Saur made a great header on Holzbein Kiel's corner, it was just that SV Bauar Köln's Peter Huppertz managed to reach the ball for a save. Thorsten Muring kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Philipp Rauscher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The throw-in from Götz Jäger in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Holzbein Kiel's Pascal Vester. Pascal Vester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Peter Huppertz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thorsten Muring kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Haraszti in the 81st minute of play forced SV Bauar Köln's goalkeeper Peter Huppertz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
