Seating: 1871, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Thomas Haraszti got the match started through his kick off. Hamit Dettinger charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hamit Dettinger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Hessen Fusball getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Hamit Dettinger hit a great ball. The supporters of Holzbein Kiel booed when Hessen Fusball was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slaven Basten didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Thomas Haraszti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Holzbein Kiel fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Paul Kremers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Haraszti in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Haraszti in the 15th minute of play forced Hessen Fusball's goalkeeper Paul Kremers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hessen Fusball's zone, Caspar Finkel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Kremers came out of the goal and Caspar Finkel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Hessen Fusball's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Haraszti came free, but Paul Kremers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th match minute, Hessen Fusball was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uwe Senekowitsch to maneuver through the defense. Paul Kremers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Haraszti, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Paul Kremers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Haraszti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 played minutes Hessen Fusball got a freekick which was hit by Uwe Senekowitsch. The audience was convinced that Thomas Haraszti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paul Kremers was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Thomas Haraszti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Caspar Finkel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 44 played minutes Hessen Fusball got a freekick which was hit by Uwe Senekowitsch. In the 47th minute, Ruud Enders fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Siegfried Krögers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Siegfried Krögers hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Mark Saak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siegfried Krögers, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Haraszti in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paul Kremers saved Hessen Fusball from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Caspar Finkel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holzbein Kiel's supporters rose to their feet, but Caspar Finkel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Kremers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Holzbein Kiel's Mark Saak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niklas Gutmann in the 86th minute of play. Holzbein Kiel's Caspar Finkel got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Hessen Fusball's goalkeeper Paul Kremers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arvid Knüwe. A hard shot 94 in the game by Arvid Knüwe from a close distance when the talented Paul Kremers managed to make a qualified save. Hessen Fusball's players were relieved. When Arvid Knüwe came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Holzbein Kiel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arvid Knüwe couldn't finish the play. Holzbein Kiel's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
