The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rob Bornscheuer got free with Ingo Stromann in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 3 played minutes SC Weser Kickers got a freekick which was hit by Pim Kader. Eduard Strobl scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eduard Gönner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, Blauenstein FC's Ingo Stromann threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Boris Kuhlmann, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ingo Alspach's late challenge caught a Blauenstein FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ingo Alspach helped the player get up and apologised. After 15 played minutes SC Weser Kickers got a freekick which was hit by Ingo Alspach. The audience was convinced that Eduard Strobl's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eduard Gönner was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. 19 minutes into the match, Roman Busch had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eduard Gönner. Blauenstein FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roman Busch was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Michael Knoke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, Eduard Strobl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eduard Gönner. Blauenstein FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduard Strobl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The supporters of Blauenstein FC booed when SC Weser Kickers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Friedl Chakravorty didn't get a good kick on the ball. The attack was good, but when Eduard Strobl in the 37th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Eduard Gönner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingo Alspach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Eduard Strobl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduard Gönner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eduard Strobl stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ingo Stromann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rob Bornscheuer in the 52nd minute of play. When Felix Stemmer fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Weser Kickers's protests and gave Felix Stemmer a yellow card for diving instead. Felix Stemmer kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Gerhard Martin Gödicke came free in the 55th minute and tried to tip the ball over Ingo Stromann, but to the joy of SC Weser Kickers's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Eduard Strobl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduard Gönner having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Blauenstein FC got a freekick which was hit by Ulrich Brüggmann. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Blauenstein FC's goalkeeper Eduard Gönner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, SC Weser Kickers's Friedl Chakravorty got a free kick in the 77th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Blauenstein FC's Gerhard Martin Gödicke tried to score from far away in the 78th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 80 minutes, Boris Kuhlmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blauenstein FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boris Kuhlmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Levi Wessel kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. SC Weser Kickers's Eduard Strobl got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Blauenstein FC's zone, Friedl Chakravorty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduard Gönner came out of the goal and Friedl Chakravorty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 90 minutes of play SC Weser Kickers's Felix Stemmer was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Felix Stemmer kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Niko Sombrutzki hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
