The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carter Caretti took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dejan Fiedler. After 29 minutes of play, Fortuna Dresden FC's Tomáš Bacho made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dejan Fiedler was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 32nd minute, Delf Engelmeier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomáš Bacho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dejan Fiedler having to interfere.
