In the 23rd play minute Hans Müntefering came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hernan Boskamp. 2-0. 27 minutes into the match, Gönnjamin FC's goalkeeper Hernan Boskamp had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hans Müntefering. When Ralf Dülfer fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gönnjamin FC's protests and gave Ralf Dülfer a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Wesseling booed when Gönnjamin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Dülfer didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Till Stöhr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tobias Rehmet hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Hernan Boskamp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmed Pflug, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hernan Boskamp was a little too slow when Rolf Sonntag got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 4-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rolf Sonntag to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, FC Wesseling's goal looked a bit too open when Heini Plath came free, but Afonso Santarém reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Gönnjamin FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hernan Boskamp should have stopped the shot. When Iker Kliesch came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Gönnjamin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iker Kliesch couldn't finish the play. FC Wesseling's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
